Nhóm Giải Thưởng Nhà Phê Bình Austin đã từng là nạn nhân của COVID, bị giải tán sau hàng chục năm công nhận cảnh nghệ thuật của Austin. Năm ngoái, người vận động cho sân khấu địa phương và giám đốc sáng lập của trung tâm sân khấu ATX Theatre, Sharron Anderson, đã khuyến khích các nhà phê bình Austin tụ họp thành một hình thức mới: Những Nhà Phê Bình Sân Khấu Austin.
Nhóm mới này bao gồm đại diện từ The Austin American-Statesman, BroadwayWorld, CTX Live Theatre, và chính bản thân tôi. Chúng tôi đã cẩn thận khám phá cảnh sân khấu để tìm kiếm những tài năng tốt nhất và sáng giá nhất của Austin, thường xuyên gặp gỡ để thảo luận về hướng giải thưởng.
